At seventeen years old, these are the values instilled in me by the United States Army. To this day, they continue to act as my guideposts — leading me toward success outside of the uniform. However, my journey, like so many others, has not been easy.
After my time in service, it took me years to find myself. I battled with depression and suicidal thoughts. I was broke. I didn’t have a car. I nearly became homeless. I destroyed relationships and hurt loved ones. If your experience transitioning out of service has been similar — you are not alone. I’ve been there, too. I made it through, and I’m here to help you do the same.
Looking back, I realized that I lost three things when I transition out of the Army — my identity, sense of purpose, and community.
In collaboration with a team of dedicated leaders, I’m building a Veteran ecosystem that you can plug into so that you don't feel alone as you learn how to navigate the civilian world. For those of you with a business idea or an interest in entrepreneurship, I'm part of the Ohio Leadership team for Bunker Labs, a national nonprofit with 40 chapters across the country — all dedicated to helping veterans and veteran spouses start businesses.
For those that aren't interested in starting a business, I’m a member of the Ohio Chamber of Commerce for Veterans. Through this organization, my team helps veterans find a new career path and connects them with the tools, resources, and support to leverage opportunities.
Regardless of your military branch, we were all taught that we can accomplish more together than we can on our own. Just because we're no longer in the uniform doesn't mean we have to stop working together as a team. A unit is only as strong as its weakest link, and we're all here to strengthen you.
Connect with me and let me know how I can best assist you.
